The question everyone asks: To bring or not to bring technology... to disconnect or stay connected to the outside world?
While most people fall on either one side or the other on this spectrum, I'm split down the middle. I'm not the person that unplugs and goes off the grid that friends and family wonder about, and I'm not the person who's on their gadgets so much that can't experience new places because I'm stuck charging a phone and facebooking friends back home. On this trip, I'm bringing gadgets and technology, but I'll be disconnected from the world back home. No work emails, text messages, or phone calls. What I will be doing with my technology is documenting my experiences, navigating through cities, capturing memorable images, and hopefully Skyping once or twice with my mom.
However, my experience in Spain is more about making memories with friends I've yet to meet, wandering streets I've only imagined, and adventuring in cities and towns I've only seen in pictures. Technology is just a tool to journal, scrapbook, and storytell. (And find Spain's best gluten free churros and chocolate!)
