It started out... rainy.
It was slightly exhilarating as my laptop had to go through extra security
Then, it was fun meeting new people in the sky
Upon landing, the fun turned to confusion trying to escape into a taxi
That confusion transformed to interest as I encountered a driver from Pakistan
that loved the city but hated politicians
that loved the city but hated politicians
It was also full of surprises like having free lime green apples
of which I consumed four
It was frustrating not having free internet as a college student
That frustration became delight as a maid randomly gave me milk and dark chocolate
Later though, my delight turned to annoyance as all expensive alcohol allowed no room
for my leftovers in the fridge
Then, to my surprise through the hotel phone, I found out that I would have a room mate who would arrive around 11:30pm
The city was... umm
It was extremely busy as I had no where to go
Then, it was sweet as I was served lunch by a kind waiter
That kindness was soon shaken as I encountered absurd rudeness in the subways
I was then let down by a cupcake that I thought would be so delicious
The city wouldn't just stop and enjoy a moment; no seats to enjoy a simple treat
People just didn't smile like they do in the South
The Barnes and Noble was... glorious.
It had over five floors filled with books of every topic
That aspect caused me to become seriously lost, in time
It was overcome with people all looking for a place to unwind from the chaos of New York
So many people that there was not a chair to be found or a vacant floor space
pictures may come soon... or maybe a video
